It consisted of a glass recipient with a wick containing oil and water. Only in the eighteenth century the famous Venetian chandelier became as we now know it. The creator of this artwork is Giuseppe Briati. He decided to cover the chandelier with clear glass and beautify it with more glass decorations. Subsequently, starting from Braiti' first creation, the nowadays Murano glass chandeliers have been designed.
