MURANO - The Glass-making Island

Murano lives in an endless exchange between ancient and modern, faithfulness to traditional values and desire for innovation, artisans working in a medieval workshop and artists immersed in the present times; this is precisely its richness. The uninterrupted practice of glass artistry, and the mix of well-known names from the international art community, have contributed to make this island a unique place, worthy of being visited, loved, studies, photographed.

In this book, the landscape and history of Murano, the history of artists and artisans, glass and furnaces, lagoon, canals, gardens and churches, is viewed through detailed historical-artistic documents and splendid photography.
